Standards define Project Management as the planning, monitoring and control of all aspects of a project and the motivation of all those involved in it to achieve the project objectives on time and to the specified cost, quality and performance.
A Project is divided into a number of stages referred to as a life cycle. The project life cycle starts with opportunity, design and development, implementation through to handover and closeout. These stages are commonly split into a number of sub-stages and described in terms appropriate to the industry sector.
Large complex projects require sizeable teams of people that specialise in a number of separate project management disciplines across each life cycle of the project. Whereas smaller projects require less resources but often are more demanding on the project manager’s technical capabilities in each of the project management discipline.
MPMS has built up it’s experience from involvement in managing major complex projects and small scale projects in each project life cycle. The project management techniques are common across all industry sectors.
